The scope of department activity
The Department of Information and Communication Technologies is in charge of development and the smooth operation of the Municipal Authority in the field of IT and information systems and technologies.
Activities of individual sections
I. The section of information system development
1. It participates in the creation of the geographic information system (GIS) of the city of České Budějovice.
2. In cooperation with the system integrator, it is in charge of the system integration (SI) of the information system of the Municipal Authority.
3. It prepares the development strategy for the information system and information technologies (IS/IT) in the Municipal Authority and it develops them.
4. It maintains and updates the Digital Technical Map of the city of České Budějovice.
5. It prepares implementation of individual components of the information system of the city in compliance with the approved system design.
II. Section of information system administration
1. It is in charge of operation of the complete information system of the Municipal Authority, i.e. it performs set-ups, modifications of set-ups , configurations, elimination of system errors and applications on servers and stations including maintenance of peripheral equipment such as printers, scanners etc.
2. It provides support to users of the information system – provides helpdesk services over the phone and personally and organises the basic training for users regarding the use of IT
3. It keeps a register of all IT as far as its dislocation and technical parameters are concerned (not the accounting data) including software and licences.
4. It maintains the internet server of the City, this means that it monitors its operation, implements innovations in cooperation with suppliers, completes and modifies the content of some pages.
It cooperates with suppliers of HW and SW when performing set-ups and modifications of set-ups and when eliminating defects.
