Work of the Section
The Section for the Preservation of Historical Monuments is responsible for executing state administration in the area of preservation of historical monuments for the city of České Budějovice and outlying villages under delegated and extended powers. It also carries out the preservation of historical monuments under separate powers.
Work of the Departments
Department for State Administration of Historical Monuments is responsible for:
1. the execution of state administration in the area of preservation of historical monuments under delegated powers for the city of České Budějovice and under extended powers for outlying villages
2. state construction supervision during the reconstruction of cultural monuments with regards to the preservation of monuments
3. the supervision – within its powers – of adherence to the law, imposition of fines
4. expert opinion on line buildings
5. expert opinion on land planning documentation with regards to the preservation of monuments
Department of Finance and Control is for example responsible for:
1. the provision of information on programmes providing financial support for the reconstruction of cultural monuments
2. state construction supervision during the reconstruction of cultural monuments with regards to the preservation of monuments
3. the supervision – within its powers – of adherence to the law, imposition of fines
4. the administration of the section budget
5. the state administration in line with Act no. 122/2004 Coll., War Graves and Sacred Places
6. work related to the declaration of cultural monuments and keeping a register
and further for example for:
1. the administration for the Section for the Preservation of Historical Monuments during the processing of documents and data for the Municipal Council and the City Board
2. updating the regeneration programme for the České Budějovice urban conservation area and the regeneration programme for the Rožnov village conservation zone
3. creating a general strategy for the preservation of historical monuments and the processing of documents and data for plans and programmes for the regeneration of cultural monuments
4. filing motions for the creation of a legal entity or a unit of a legal entity for the regeneration of cultural monuments
5. ensuring cooperation between the City of České Budějovice and the Association of Historical Settlements in Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia
6. cooperating with civic activities and societies in order to present the cultural and historical monuments of the city
7. conducting historical structural surveys including the declaration of tenders and the drafting of contracts for the work of the Section for the Preservation of Historical Monuments
8. work related to the preservation of monuments under separate powers within the administrative area of the statutory city of České Budějovice
9. the provision of, and accounting for, financial contributions for the preservation and reconstruction of cultural monuments in line with section 16 Act N. 20/1987 Coll., Act on the State Preservation of Historical Monuments, as amended, and in line with regulation no. 66/1988 Coll., to execute the Act on the State Preservation of Historical Monuments, as amended.
10. keeping a register of the property of the statutory city of České Budějovice, which was declared a cultural monument, and ensuring its restoration (statues)
11. keeping a register of war graves in the administration area of the community under extended powers
12. cooperating with the Preservation Commission of the Municipal Council and the working group for the urban conservation area of České Budějovice
