České Budějovice has a central bus station, which is a stop for 300 buses of 23 transport companies on average on weekdays. On Saturdays there are about 80 buses and about 90 buses on Sundays.

The domestic bus transport covers (providing a possibility of changing buses) the whole territory of the Czech Republic. The international lines link České Budějovice with France, Italy, Austria, Slovakia, the Federal Republic of Germany and the Ukraine.

The major transport company providing a transport service within the České Budějovice region is ČSAD JIHOTRANS a. s. České Budějovice. It operates a total of 59 inner regional routes, 3 long distance routes (Prague direct and through Týn n. Vlt., Brno) and 2 international routes (Linz and Banská Bystrica). It runs 163 buses, of which 15 are tour buses.
